Glass Types

Float Glass x
Float Glass
Float glass is the most basic type of glass. It is the basis for tempered, laminated, and insulated glass. In case of breakage float glass shatters into sharp dangerous pieces. We do not recommend float glass for big glass panels.

Tempered Glass x
Tempered Glass
Tempered Glass is a type of safety glass where float glass gets heated and rapidly cooled which inflicts a pre tension into the glass. Tempered glass is considered to be around 5 times stronger than float glass. In the extremely rare occassion of breakage it shatters into small unsharp pieces. For the above benefits, we select temper glass by default for all our windows.

Laminated Glass x
Laminated Glass
Laminated Glass is a type of safety glass where two panels of either float glass or tempered glass are bond with a PVB film or a sound-reducing film. In case of breakage, the interlayer film holds the shattered glass pieces in place. Hence laminate glass is recommended for areas with present danger of falling. However, since laminate glass consists of two thinner glass panes, its comparably weak compared to a single pane glass of same thickness.
CLASSSAFETY GLASS
THICKNESS 3+3/4+4/5+5/6+6/8+8 mm
PRODUCER ASAHI / GUARDIAN
KEY ADVANTAGES PREVENTS DANGER OF FALLING
DISADVANTAGES CANNOT BE RESIZED, RELATIVELY WEAK

Insulated Glass x
Insulated Glass
Insulated glass is a composition of two glass elements that are joined with an airgap in between. This gap contains either a vacuum or argon gas. The glass elements themselves can either be single panes (float / temper glass) or laminated panels.
CLASSINSULATED GLASS
THICKNESS 16mm to 42mm
PRODUCER ASAHI / GUARDIAN
KEY ADVANTAGES HEAT INSULATION, NOISE REDUCTION
DISADVANTAGES CANNOT BE RESIZED, PRICE

Glass Tints

Clear Glass x
Clear Glass
Clear glass is the most standard glass and suitable for almost all designs. Eventhough being clear, the glass will have a slight green touch.

Green Glass x
Green Tint
Green glass usually fits well with dark frames in modern designs. Please note that green tint has an additive effect. That means that the thicker the glass or the more panels are stacked, the intensity of the green increases.

EuroGrey Glass x
Grey Tint
Euro Grey Glass is lighter than the Grey Tint usually used in Thailand. It reduces light transmission and helps to reduce internal heat. For energy savings it works best if used in insulated glass panels.
